We're in the middle of spicing up the True Galaxies portal once again!

Today we placed our newest style onto the portal. We will be continuing to upgrade and incorporate new features into the portal over the coming months. Below are some of the most recent changes, and what we are working on adding.

Among the changes:

• A better random screenshot feature, with eye candy.
• A new Transparent Blue, Death Star theme.
• Fixes for the True Galaxies Irc Applet. We encourage everyone to join us on irc!
• Numerous background code improvements to improve the efficiency, flexibility, and portability of the portal and associated systems that will allow us to continue to expand.
• (Forum Addition): Added Faction and Guild profile fields. They are displayed in the profile as well as on posts under the username.
• A screenshot gallery and a system in which users can submit their SWG screenshots directly to the website. There is currently a limit of 1 screenshot every 12 hours, however this may change. Screenshots have to be approved before they will be displayed in the gallery.
• User Information Bar. This will contain a number of helpful links in the near future.

In the near future, we plan to incorporate:

• A means by which users can specify the theme they want displayed for the portal.
• Any reasonable, obtainable ideas that can be incorporated in relatively little time thought of by the community.
• Other goodies which we are opting to not disclose at this time :)

While we don't have an Emulator yet, I just thought I'd let you know that we are very thankful for the community that True Galaxies has formed into over the last 3 1/2 years. If it wasn't for you all there would be no True Galaxies. Thanks for sticking with us and keeping the True Galaxies community alive and strong.

Please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday from everyone here at True Galaxies! For those of you outside of the U.S., we still wish you happy and safe days!

When creating your character be sure to select any city on Tatooine. You should have enough credits to get to Mos Espa. Remember, we're meeting in the cantina!

We would like to see you ingame on October 3rd, 2009 on the SWGEmu Test Center. We will be meeting in the Mos Espa cantina around 6:30 PM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. After we have a short meet and greet, we're going to run out and tackle some group missions, and perhaps take on a Krayt Dragon!

Here's some things about the event:

• We'll be running around on foot!
• We'll be going from 6:30 to 9:30.
• We'll be having some fun!

We're also open to community suggestions! Please post here if you have any.

In addition, please invite your friends to join us. We really want to give the new TC a test!

I believe it is time to get a new voting graphic. While our current one has served us extremely well, and is a fantastic graphic we need something new and exciting.

Here is the current graphic:


So, we're holding a contest for you graphic designers out there. If we choose your graphic then you will get a special plaque to display in your house, and your choice of collectors edition goggles.

Here are the specs of the graphic:

• 468x60 in size.
• Doesn't *have* to be animated. However, it should probably be exceptional if it's not animated.
• With this graphic you are free to put what you want on the graphic, as long as it's TG related, and promotes TG goodness ;).

To submit a graphic, just post it here. I'm not sure when we'll get around to picking one but we'll be sure to let you know.

P.S.: In addition, when we find a new graphic I will personally spend the $15 to have our new flashy graphic on the XtremeTop100 site for a month :).

Just to let you all know we're still here, alive and kicking. Activity has went down some, but that is to be expected. No need to be here all the time, when most of us are just waiting to play.

So, while the inactivity may seem dis-heartening, don't let it be. Many people are just waiting to play. Just know that on that day of release True Galaxies will be there, ready to provide Star Wars Galaxies the way it should be.

As most of you know True Galaxies isn't going to be making massive game changes, nor are we tailoring our server for a certain play style. We are here to stick with the purest Pre-CU we can get our hands on.

One of the major features of playing at TG is going to be the content that we generate for the game. We have a massive amount of lore, and information to pull from to make some really good, authentic, content that everyone can enjoy. You may be asking what we have up our sleeves! Well one of the most major content additions we plan on adding ever 3 to 4 months are what we would like to call storyline adventures. These are very similar to the Cries of Alderaan quest series in Pre-CU.

So for our next pre-launch event we are going to ask the community to help us come up with storyline settings. If you choose to participate you don't really need to go into too much detail and design missions or events (that's up to us, unless of course you want to!), but throw us some suggestions from Star Wars lore. Below are some guidelines to be considered.

• The setting must be true to Star Wars lore, and would fit in perfectly in this timeline.
  • This can be waived a tad bit. If you have your own original idea that still fits in, and does not contridict Star Wars lore, please feel free to participate!
• Use Tanaab if you can ;). There are few wiki's out there with information regarding Tanaab.
• Try to incorporate multiple "Paths" in it. This would mean a story where a person might want to go the good path, or the bad path.
• Avoid too much outright conflict between the Imperials and the Rebels. Remember there are other factions in the game as well!
  • We would like to have some storylines that explore the other factions and where a player can choose to go with a certain faction.
• If you do a full out design of the storyline adventure be sure to not exclude our valued crafters!

Members should post their ideas, and gather feed back from the community. The appropriate forum for this is the General Gameplay Discussion forum. Near launch we hope to have quite a few, and our first storyline adventure that we implement will be from the community via a vote. When you create your thread to gather feed back and constructive crticism, please be sure to post a link in the Sticky Thread: Storyline Adventure Entries

Many of you are probably here because of the email that you received from us. First off, thanks for coming back!

An emulator release is drawing extremely close. SWGEmu's test center is probably the furthest along in terms of features. Another test center that is moving a long quite nicely is PersistentWorlds, while not as far as SWGEmu they are moving along at a nice pace. SWGANH's test center is still private, but you can view a lot of the current features at SWGANH.com.

If are you interested in connecting to a test center please follow the simple guide below.

1. Make sure you have SWG installed. Any version will do.
2. Install LaunchPad Enhanced from: http://launchpad.thewildclan.com/
3. Once LaunchPad Enhanced is installed it will download all the necessary files, so please give it some time to do this.
4. Once it is installed you can choose "Nova Test" which is SWGEmu's test center. No further configuartion is needed, though you will need to register on their website at SWGEmu.com. If you wish to connect to PersistentWorlds, one further step is required.
5. Click on Server Management then Add, and enter the following information. Server Address: mragent.homeip.net Port: 44453. This is the Persistent Worlds beta server, hosted by the osswg.com community. You will need to register an account at osswg.com to login to the PW server.

Welcome back to the vBulletin forums!

Note: You will need to re-register, just incase your missed it on the old forums.

Some new things that come with vBulletin:

1. Voting now adds points to your account. Top voters are displayed on the home page based on points. At the end of every month we will randomly choose one account to receive a special ingame (non-game changing) item. This can be anything from a special display item, to the collector edition goggles. The more points you have the greater the chance of winning.
2. A new weekly contest will be held for screenshot of the week. In the beginning, the best screenshot taken from any current test center is eligible. The staff will then vote on which one wins. Prizes will vary, but will not be game changing. This feature is not quite ready, so expect this in the next few weeks.

If you notice any oddities, please post here!
